Swatch from the Streets for ‘Nylon’s’ April Issue

Hey kids!

If you haven’t already, please be gracious enough with your time to check out my Nylon x Swatch shoot from the upcoming spread in Nylon’s April issue. I had such an amazing day traipsing around LA with the Nylon crew, taking pics of some of my favorite Hollywood spots!

The second best part, aside from the obviously great company and dope spread tied for first?  They let me wear my own clothes! The super awesome stylist was totally cool with me rockin’ my own digs in the shoot, and I couldn’t be more grateful for her faith!

Many thanks to the Nylon team for putting together such a fun shoot and Nikki Pennie for helping me edit my overwhelming wardrobe!!!

Vanessa Bruno Miracle

I always love the creative fashion shorts Vanessa Bruno puts together to debut her collections, such a refreshing and inspiring departure from the typical white-wall lookbook.  Not sure how old this one is but I just found it and am obsessed…would a re-creation of the last scene be too much of a mess to clean up in my apartment? …because it may need to happen.

My friend showed me this little gem the other day and I thought I’d spread the wealth with you guys.  Check out Nicki Minaj’s rant about being a strong, hard-working female in a predominantly male-driven industry and the negative connotations that come along with it.  I know, sounds pretty intelligent in theory and she does make a good point but…haha just check it out.

Last week I went to the LA concert for Caesar’s Escape Total Rewards event where Cee-Lo Green and LIL WAYNE were performing, so you know your girl’s dreams came true!  We were spoiled enough to be standing in the raise VIP area and I was literally 10 feet from my future-boo at eye level.  His charisma and energy are infectious and he KILLED it like he always does.  I felt so grateful to be there, it was truly a magical time.  Big thanks to Total Rewards for organizing such a cool event… Cee-Lo was UNBELIEVABLE as well and watching all the other greats performing live in major cities across the country was such an amazing interactive experience for everyone there.  And once again, for the record, #iheartweezy with my whole heart.  Truly one of our generations greatest performers.

because I gotta say… HOLY FREAKIN SHIT!  My friend just sent me a link to a cover of my current favorite song “Somebody I Used to Know” and it actually blew my mind, YOU MUST SEE THIS NOW! SO pleased to introduce Canadian-homegrown talents ‘Walk Off the Earth’ to anyone outside of the 64 million+ viewers who’ve already seen this vid since being posted less than two months ago. SO IMPRESSIVE! I’m late on the draw, I know, but if you have already seen it, use this opportunity to watch it again…and again…because it’s really that amazing.  Thanks for sending my way B!

Song of the Day: ‘Little Talks’ – Of Monsters and Men

I’m still not sure how I stumbled upon this song months ago but I’ve been playing it on repeat since I first laid ears on it. From the soft, eerily sweet opening to the joyful power-crescendo mid-song that brings us home, I think this track’s just perfect for every occasion.  This six-member band hails from Iceland and on is its way to taking over the music scene so see ‘em while you can!
