My 3 Rules for Winter Style

I recently gave PEOPLE the my top 3 rules for winter style! Follow these to stay on trend this holiday season!

1. Layer: Throw an on-trend leather moto jacket over your coziest sweater or top off your outfit with a luxe leopard-print scarf.
2. Choose Chic Coats: Invest in a wide array of awesome jackets. I like to be comfortable. I just stick with jeans and a sweater for the most part, but if you layer on a sick jacket, no one has to know how lazy you are!
3. Wear Ankle Booties: They provide more coverage than heels and are chic whether worn with a dress or skinny jeans.

Shenae Grimes Yves Saint Laurent Evening Coat

When hopping from party to party this holiday season, an evening coat is a must. I love this one because of the notch lapels with woven metal overlay. A black coat with unique embellishments and a menswear finish keeps this classic with a twist. This would look amazing on top of any holiday dress or even a blouse and tapered trousers.
