I’m always up for a good flea market adventure, and the Fairfax & Melrose trading post in LA seems to never fail. I unexpectedly found this little chestnut bag one Sunday and could not wait to add it to my collection.

Rare Finds: Washboard Necklace Holder
When perusing the monthly Rosebowl flea-market in Pasadena one Sunday, I wasn’t having much luck with clothes and refused to leave my regular hunt empty-handed! In the last aisle, in the very back corner of the massive grounds, I spotted this grimy old wooden-washboard and was instantly inspired! My friends thought I was nuts but I took it home, happy with my find and a few nails, a little twine and some creative hot-glue-gun-ing later, I had myself a new handy-dandy necklace holder! Get weird. It usually works out!

Rare Finds: Fell In Love in Paris
I went to Paris with a pal over our season 1 hiatus and like many others, fell in love with the city of romance. I also happened to fall in love while I was there…with these adorable vintage Talbot spectators I found at a weekend antique market! They’re a super-cute addition to any casual look and the colors work with everything!

Rare Vintage Find: Serious Statement Coat
I found this ridiculous but AMAZING ankle-length tapestry and shearling coat at a vintage shop in Toronto’s Kensington market many years ago and it’s one of my favorite rare finds. Though there’s rarely an appropriate occasion for a serious statement coat like this to make an appearance, I refuse to let it go! I know it’s a bit much but I’m stickin’ to my guns on this one kids…

Rare Finds: Elegant Cropped Cashmere
On one of my first vintage shopping trips in NY I found this cropped cashmere sweater with a faux-fur collar and gold and pearl fastener and knew I’d have to call that city my home one day! Pair elegant rare finds like this with a little black dress, killer pumps and a messy updo and you’re sure to turn heads.
