New Designer: Beatrice Holloway by Wendy Wong

Shenae-Beatrice-Holloway-Wendy-Wong-062012-1

I hosted my first segment ever for Fashion Television in 2008, interviewing and showcasing Canadian designer Wendy Wong and her line, House of Spy.  Since then, the brand has split off into two amazing lines for two very different ladies, Maison and Beatrice Holloway.  While both collections are adorable, I’m all about the 40s/50s style right now and Beatrice Holloway stole my heart!  Her classic silhouettes and fun pops of color add up to a conservative sexy I think we’ll be seeing lots of in for seasons to come!

New Designer: Reformation

Shenae Grimes New Designer Reformation

I first stumbled on Reformation when wandering LA for the first time with my dad at sixteen years old. I was already a vintage-junkie back then and was BEYOND thrilled to discover the perfect silk tanks, vintage-inspired sundresses and distressed denim all in one place! Reformation re-works vintage garments and fabrics into perfectly tailored contemporary and vintage-inspired silhouettes, literally my dream come true. Women were built differently in decades past and finding vintage clothing that fits properly can be a tough feat! I depend on this store for nearly a quarter of my wardrobe and have followed them from location to location for a long time. Absolutely a must if you’re shopping around LA or NY! Check out thereformation.com for more info on the brand!

New Designer: Lindsey Thornburg

Lindsey-Thornburg-Cloaks-1

I heard about Lindsey’s cloaks years ago through a mutual friend and have been obsessing over her Navajo-inspired cloaks and gothic gowns for years. She’s a facet on the fashion scene and has been making her imprint on it through local NY boutiques for a while but as of a couple months ago, she finally has her very own space! If you find yourself sauntering around LES anytime soon, be sure to check out Lindsey’s new store (partnered with another great brand, Sophomore) at 143 Ludlow Street.

New Designer: An Ode To No One

Shenae Grimes Blogs About Australian Brand, An Ode To No One

I saw a little profile of this new Australian brand on one of my favorite blogs, Refinery29 and had to spread the word!  Photos of this brand’s pieces are few and far between and I’ve yet to figure out how to get my hands on it but if you figure it out, please let me know! Their adorable collared dresses and sharply tailored blazers are right up my alley and I’m dying to add a few pieces to my wardrobe!
