I am FINALLY unpacking from my trip to New York Fashion week…yes, almost three weeks ago…and was reminded that I absolutely needed to blog to you guys about two amazing shops I picked up some great new pieces at while I was there!
My uber-talented stylist pal Grace Koo convinced me to carve just enough time out of my hectic hosting schedule to pop by two stores with her that she knew I’d love. Okay…so maybe it didn’t take much convincing. If you aren’t familiar, google the Great Frog and The Cast in the Lower East Side. If you are currently in Manhattan, I strongly suggest you play hooky to whatever you’re about to do and head there now!
The Great Frog is a jewelry store from the UK and made for us heavy-metal lovers. Their endless collection of gothic designs beautifully crafted from yummy, chunky silver kept me occupied for at least an hour! I literally have not taken off my silver skull studs since I signed my bill in the store.
Across the street is The Cast, owned by Chuck and Elisa and their newest partner in crime, BEAUTIFUL baby Johnnie…aka it’s owned by the coolest family ever, is 22 too old to be adopted? They’ve merchandised the small space so well with their own brand’s too-die-for leather pieces and racks upon racks of carefully curated vintage pieces, so as you can imagine, I basically wanted the entire store in my closet. Thanks to Elisa’s amazing taste in vintage, I could barely close my suitcase to come home but I’m so happy with my new pieces and will be sure to leave extra room in my closet for round two next time I go! Many thanks for the great finds Great Frog and Chuck and Elisa at the Cast!
