With Halloween right around the corner, I have started to look to fashion for some inspiration. I love these hauntingly beautiful fashion shots featuring dramatic face paint and Victorian-inspired vintage garments. The stunning skeletal makeup has a glamorous yet dark and deadly appeal. The gorgeous photo series done by fashion photographer Pauline Darley, titled “She Has Waited Too Long,’ had me dying to try out my own day of the dead look this past weekend with Josh. What do you think about our zombie-esque face paint?

I spent an entire afternoon with StyleCaster where I not only got to model a bunch of  fall’s hottest trends, but I also got to talk to the lovely Spencer Cain about the future of fashion and my personal style aesthetic. I loved the outfits, such as the floral peplum skirt paired with a stripped tee and cinched in at the waist with a blue snakeskin belt. The 50′s inspired photo shoot was so much fun and I had a blast modeling looks from Burberry, Carven, Sandro and more. Found this old Ecco dress tucked away in a suitcase I’d lent to my grandma for a trip a while back and was so glad to be reunited with it once again! It’s super easy to throw on with a pair of heels for a night out with its lightweight, comfy fabric and strategically layered shape. Since I opted for black on bottom, I decided to punch up the look with some bright orange lips on top. It’s a little bold for my comfort zone but I’m digging the fun alternative to red, what do you guys think?

Threw on this hippie-dippy outfit for a stroll on the Venice boardwalk the other day, seemed appropriate. Picked up this awesome layered-print skirt at a little shop on Abbott Kinney a while back and finally got to rock this turquoise gem I got at the Rosebowl flea market months ago. I never do strapless but felt it was the only thing that would properly showcase the beautiful metal choker and topped the look with some well-worn leather boots, ready for some ample stroll-age. :)

Last weekend my very bestest pal in the whole world came for a quick visit from NY! Her first night out, she pulled an all-nighter at work with me on location at an aquarium (ie: photo of us on a faux-shark haha), such a trooper! Saturday eve we checked out the Guns n Roses show, which was just kind of a sad state of affairs because Axl just ain’t what he once used to be, but was totally redeemed by an amazing afternoon and evening spent in Venice her last night in town! The sunset from the Erwyn Hotel rooftop is breathtaking, if you’re ever hanging in Venice Beach, be sure to check it out!  Thanks for coming out Ames, miss you already!!!! Big love from Lalaland!!
