2010-2012 Blog of Shenae Grimes

For several years this was the an official blog website of Shenae Grimes. You will find her thoughts and musings in the selected posts below.
2011, she traveled to Japan with her 90210 costars AnnaLynne McCord and Jessica Stroup to attend the Asia Girls Explosion (AGE) in Tokyo, after filming 90210's third season finale. Grimes was caught up in Japan due to the events of the tsunami and earthquakes. According to the actress, she was at Buddha's temple at the time when the earthquakes first occurred. Consequently, she started a campaign called "Spread The Heart" with the aim of supporting Japan by victim relief after the events of the tsunami and earthquakes. See her 08/08/11 below. She is also known for her exceptional fashion sense as is evident from many of her posts .

For Shenae Grimes fans this was a must read blog back in the day.

Update & Observations:
Boy, a lot has changed in the past 12 years. We all grow up and move on.Shenae is now married so she now goes by the hyphenated last name: Grimes-Beech. As of 2022 she has two young children. She's an American citizen with dual Canadian-American citizenship. And in In 2018, Grimes began playing the homicide detective, Jacqueline Cooper, on CTV's police drama, The Detail. BTW, the new role marked her first time playing an adult character.
Shenae Grimes now lives in Nashville and like many 30 somethings with young children is a mommy blogger and podcaster. However she is still takes rolls as an actress working in both film and television roles. And she remains in the entertainment gossip mill of certain online sites that cater to such news.

Although I occasionally do a search to see what Shenae is up to, I am really busy working with small businesses who want an online presence. Just like I did my homework following Shenae, I also use as an incredible resource to help my clients a site call eCommerc Platforms. If you are starting an online business and aren't sure what ecommerce platform will suit your needs,I found a sitr that will give you the nitty gritty on the most popular platforms comparing their pros and cons. When I first started out working with small businesses and a client asks a question about a certain ecommerce platform like Etsy, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, Square, or Shopify (to name a few of the popular ones) I could go to that site and get the granular information I needed. With 5 years under my belt I am much more knowledgable. Now I read their blog posts which are quite informative and check out their reviews of any new tools.

Now that you are caught up to what Shenae is doing presently, enjoy a nostalgic trip back to the 2010-2012 archived pages of officialshenaegrimes.com.

Rare Finds: Washboard Necklace Holder

When perusing the monthly Rosebowl flea-market in Pasadena one Sunday, I wasn’t having much luck with clothes and refused to leave my regular hunt empty-handed! In the last aisle, in the very back corner of the massive grounds, I spotted this grimy old wooden-washboard and was instantly inspired! My friends thought I was nuts but I took it home, happy with my find and a few nails, a little twine and some creative hot-glue-gun-ing later, I had myself a new handy-dandy necklace holder! Get weird. It usually works out!

Fun Yet Simple

Back in New York and heading downtown for a lunch meeting, I decided to pair a light sheer blouse with a leather pencil skirt. Keeping things fun yet simple, I topped off the look with nude ankle booties and a metallic quilted bag.

Luxury Wishlist: Gold on Gold Rolex Watch

I’m not sure if I saw it in a dream once upon a time or on an Olsen but, either way, the only watch I’ve ever wanted was a chunky men’s-inspired gold-on-gold Rolex. Like many other millennials, my only necessary source of time is my cell-phone so the only watches I’ve ever bought, have been $10 knock-offs from the airport. I’d sure be happy to kick it old-school for one of these babies though.

Peter Pan Meets Wednesday Addams

For a dinner with old friends, I decided to pair a black skirt with a Peter Pan collared, Wednesday Addams inspired top. Topped off the look with my Chanel ankle boots and Minkoff bow bag.

Talking Fashion & Acting with ‘The Huffington Post’

Shenae Grimes Huffington Post Interview Main

I recently sat down with Meredith Gillies at The Huffington Post for an interview and wanted to post a snippet here. You can read my full interview on The Huffington Post’s website.

If you weren’t an actress right now, what would you be doing? Would you be working at a magazine?
Not magazines particularly, but fashion for sure. My dream is to really do that full-time but it’s building blocks, you know what I mean? I don’t believe in rushing into anything. Season 1, they were like, ‘You want a line at K-Mart or Target?’ But that’s not the way that I want to go about things. I’m not a designer and I don’t want to claim to be, but I’m not a writer either. It’s just stuff I like to do and when I’m passionate about it, I do it. And I’m great friends with Marvin [Scott Jarrett] and Jacyln [B. Jarrett] over at Nylon Magazine, so they’ve been so receptive in allowing me to get creative and produce content for them. And obviously my little fam at Teen Vogue is great and I’m so honored they allowed me to come in and be a part of the team on the last hiatus.

LBD With a Pop of Orange

Found this old Ecco dress tucked away in a suitcase I’d lent to my grandma for a trip a while back and was so glad to be reunited with it once again! It’s super easy to throw on with a pair of heels for a night out with its lightweight, comfy fabric and strategically layered shape. Since I opted for black on bottom, I decided to punch up the look with some bright orange lips on top. It’s a little bold for my comfort zone but I’m digging the fun alternative to red, what do you guys think?

Boardwalk Stroll Couture

Threw on this hippie-dippy outfit for a stroll on the Venice boardwalk the other day, seemed appropriate. Picked up this awesome layered-print skirt at a little shop on Abbott Kinney a while back and finally got to rock this turquoise gem I got at the Rosebowl flea market months ago. I never do strapless but felt it was the only thing that would properly showcase the beautiful metal choker and topped the look with some well-worn leather boots, ready for some ample stroll-age. :)

‘Are You Happy Now’ - World Premiere

The “Are You Happy Now” video premiere day has finally come! I may or may not have already dorked out and scrolled through some of teen.com comment board under the video and what I saw brought tears to my eyes! The entire time I prepped for this video with Megan and Liz, I kept telling the girls that all the hard emotional work I was having them do would pay off once everyone got to see this video. It is difficult for anyone to expose their vulnerable side to the public, nevermind in front of the whole world on camera like Meg and Liz had the courage to do here, so many thanks to everyone who responded warmly so far on teen.com... your words justified everything that went into its creation from its original conception in my mind and for that, I am eternally grateful.

If you haven’t already had the chance, you can check out the exclusive premiere at Teen.com.

And if you’re interested in seeing a little behind-the-scenes footage of Meg, Liz and myself, please check out my friends Jared Eng’s and Joey Parker’s websites for the inside scoop. Thank you and much love to both of you boys for the constant love and support!

Thanks for the suggestions you have shared in Finishing Touches - Shenae Grimes videos, photos and blog: Official website. Something else I would like to state is that pc memory needs generally go up along with other breakthroughs in the engineering. For instance, any time new generations of processor chips are introduced to the market, there’s usually a similar increase in the scale calls for of both laptop or computer memory as well as hard drive space. This is because the software program operated simply by these cpus will inevitably boost in power to make new technology.

Golden Globes Fashion Round-up

Shenae Grimes Golden Globes fashion round-up

I never get excited for awards season. Unless you’re there in the flesh, they just don’t seem like too much fun. To draw maybe 10 awards total out over a three hour period seems pretty indulgent and extravagant for my taste...oh, and dull... not to mention that black tie dress code usually translates to just boring.

If you’re a dude, your biggest option is a skinny versus a regular tie, and if you’re a chick, ya pick a color ya hope nobody else has yet and cover yourself in it from head to toe. The colorful floor length gown has always seemed very eighth grade prom to me, but apparently I’m not much of a lady, so what do I know?
Either way, I’m getting older and if I wanna hold my own on those carpets one day, I gotta look the part so I decided to give this awards season round-up a closer look and tell ya what worked for me... and what was still just boring.

Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend

Chanel fine jewelry pieces at MOCA's annual gala

I had the great fortune of being invited by a friend to the viewing of Chanel’s new fine jewelry collection in honor of MOCA’s Annual Gala and I simply have to gush for a moment...

The intricacy of each piece blew my mind. Every diamond’s unique cut fit together as perfect pieces to the most exquisite puzzle I’d ever seen. Inspired by Chanel’s debut jewelry collection in 1932 that consisted of intricately laced feathers pinned to mannequin heads on display in Coco’s own humble home, the concept has been brought a long way since.

I don’t want to blab on too long as my measly words could only take away from the beauty of these works of art, so please enjoy...

Chrome Hearts ‘Bam Bam’ Costume

Our Halloween Costumes

I’ve never been a big fan of dressing up on Halloween because of the pressures to uphold a common female tradition of skimping out on clothing. Props to stores like Trashy Lingerie for their incredible attention to detail and ability to flatter the female form, but it just ain’t my bag.

Fortunately, this year, with the generous efforts of my good friend and head designer at Chrome Hearts, Jessie Jo Stark and her brilliant design team, my anxiety was quickly eased. She had decided to be a punk rock Madeline from the children’s cartoon, so keeping in the theme, we chose to create a punk rock Bam Bam costume from The Flintstones for me. They whipped it up quickly and did a damn fine job! We make a great underage, cartoon couple if I do say so myself... Thoughts?

Thanks to Josh and Dave at Chrome Hearts!!

Fashion Week Round-up

Shenae Grimes 2010 Fashion Week

Hop on. Hop off. The anxious energy always feels like deja vu, but this time it seemed a bit different. New notebook in bag, new task at hand, and new confidence in check! I finally had a real purpose at fashion week this season as arm-candy to Teen Vogue editor-at-large Andrew Bevan, as well as host of the mag’s Fashions Night Out party. I was more than ready!

After the event, a great dinner with old friends turned into great laughs, which quickly turned into 4 A.M. somehow and I finally decided I'd been up far too long! After half an hour of scouring the streets for a cab amidst the hoards of Fashion Night Out party-goers, we finally made our way back to the hotel for some solid z's before the first day of shows (which, fortunately, wouldn't start until 6 P.M. the next day).

You can check out the whole adventure in the photo gallery.

My Dream Tailcoat

Shenae Grime's Custom Tailcoat

Since my 21st birthday blowout fell a week before all hallows eve, I felt I should get everyone in the spirit and encourage all of my partygoers to wear costumes. It was a madhouse, so it seemed appropriate.

For my outfit, I decided to go with a ringmaster theme and take the reigns, or riding crop in this case, into my own hands. Of course, this was mainly an excuse to indulge in a custom tailored tailcoat I’d dreamt of and searched for since I was a wee shopper.

Ever since I saw my British stepdad wear his to a wedding when I was eleven, I knew I needed to have my own one day, but the task of finding a man’s tailcoat to fit a 5’2 narrow, female frame proved impossible for me. Cue local L.A. suit designer Jonathan Behr to the rescue! With his patient ear and tailoring expertise, I was able to finally bring my vision to fruition for the big night. I couldn’t have been happier with the result!

What do you guys think?

21st Birthday Bash at Beacher’s Madhouse

Ladies and gentlemen... well, probably mostly ladies... I’m finally the big 2-1 and I must say, man, it does feel good!

Now, I’m not exactly a party girl... in fact, I’m known to most of my friends as somewhat of a grandma, but it feels good to know I can finally legally attend my friends birthdays and weekend outings...not to mention, without the stress of what blogger or paparazzi may be lurking nearby. Throwing a big birthday bash has never been my style, but I figured it only seemed appropriate to go balls out for such an event, so I reached out to the most wild and outlandish party animal known around town, Mr. Jeffrey Beacher. Beacher and David Arquette recently partnered in creating a new theater at the Roosevelt Hotel called Beacher’s Madhouse, set to officially open this Valentine’s Day. After hearing how eager I was for their spot to host my 21st, the boys were kind enough to open their doors well before their grand opening for mine and my castmate Jessica Stroup’s joint birthday celebration!

Since our birthdays fell only weeks before Halloween, we felt it should be highly encouraged that all guests wear any costume or eccentric get-up that tickled their fancy. Here are some pics from the evening’s escapades as documented on my dear friend Mark Hunter’s website, A.K.A. The Cobrasnake.
