Go Brogue…

Shenae Grimes Marnie Gold Leather Suede Platform Brogues

These metallic platform brogues are amazing. I love the lace-up oxford style paired with the wingtip detailing at the toe. The platform gives these shoes some added height without taking away from the bold gold coloring. Collections from Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, and alice + olivia are incorporating metallics in a way that is youthful and edgy without being too costumey. What do you think?

Flashback Friday: Phone in a Box

Shenae Grimes Phone in a box Trend

I love vintage inspired items like this MARC BY MARC JACOBS phone clutch that is a flashback to a time when phones were actually in boxes. I love the antique look of these clutches. Whether you use it to actually carry your phone or carry other small essentials, you can’t go wrong with this updated take on an old piece. What do you think?

Best of Golden Globes Red Carpet Fashion

Shenae Grimes Best of Golden Globes Fashion

The red carpet for the Golden Globes was filled with amazing gowns this year. My favorites had to be the dresses worn by Emily Blunt, Naomi Watts, Kate Hudson, Taylor Swift, and Michelle Dockery. Emily Blunt, Kate Hudson, and Michelle Dockery went for gold with their gowns. While Emily rocked it head-to-toe in a gold cut-out Michael Kors dress, Michelle chose to color-block with her Alexandre Vauthier’s white and gold gown. Kate Hudson stuck to subtle gold accents with her Alexander McQueen keyhole black dress which was adorned with gold embellishments. I also loved the dark wine-colored dresses worn by Taylor Swift and Naomi Watts. Naomi’s was a deep red Zac Posen number while Taylor opted for a plum color Donna Karan Atelier dress. Who do you think had the best look?

A Badass Take on Formal Wear

Shenae Grimes Warner Brothers Instyle Golden Globes

On Sunday I went to the Warner Brothers Instyle Golden Globe party with Josh! My dress top was an original piece made by my dear friend Danyna Foley. It’s a badass take on formal wear and I’ve been saving it for months for an appropriate occasion. Everyone’s all dolled up for the Globes parties and I never feel comfortable looking too feminine and girly so this was the perfect way to incorporate my edgy style into this fancy affair. The leather skirt underneath is Reformation and the go-to leather pumps are Theyskens’ Theory. I topped of the look with a statement necklace from Topshop! Josh was wearing head to toe Topshop. What do you think?

Onesie-Clad Folks

Shenae Grimes Josh Beech Onesies

What started off as a joke between Josh and I about our ideal airplane-gear, soon turned into a massive trend in London streetwear. I got Josh matching Starwars onesies for him and I for his birthday and once arriving in the UK for the holidays, I was seeing awesome onesie-clad folks roaming around everywhere! Here is my new skull and crossbones onesie I got for Christmas, and Josh and I in our Star Wars digs. I also love this leopard print one from Polyvore and a Drop Dead cat in a bowtie one from Josh’s mate’s company!

Laying It On Thick…

Shenae Grimes Thick Eyebrows Beauty Trend

The latest beauty trend that has been making its way back onto the runways and fashion magazines is full eyebrows. I remember when Lily Collins was on the first season of 90210 and one of the first things I said to her was I loved her eyebrows. She’s stunning and reminds me of Audrey Hepburn meets a young Brooke Shields. Full eyebrows can highlight delicate features in your face and give you a youthful, fresh look. Take some inspiration from these leading ladies and fashionable trendsetters and go for fuller brows this season.

Shady Lady

Shenae Grimes Cat Eye Sunglasses Trend

Cat eye sunglasses have been emerging on the runways and the streets of LA and I can’t help but be obsessed with the latest eye candy. The exaggerated 50′s style shades are making a comeback from the days when they were worn by classic movie stars like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. The revamped shades are bigger and rounder in their shape and some styles are even adorned with pearls and gems. These sunglasses mix the old with the new and I love how they frame my face. What do you think about this catty trend?
